Dr. Muhammad Akbar

Dr. Muhammad Akbar possesses over 35 years’ experience in agriculture research, planning, management, production and development in rice. He earned a Ph.D. from Osaka University, Japan. He worked with International Rice Research Institute, the Philippine and in Pakistan, he held many distinguished positions in Pakistan including chairman of Pakistan Agriculture Research Council, Director General National Agricultural Centre, Islamabad, National Coordinator Pakistan Agricultural Research Council and Divisional Head of Nuclear Institute of Agriculture & Biology.

He has to his credit over 60 publications at domestic and international level. His recent work includes the restructuring of the rice research framework encompassing the organizational development and research framework of Rice Research Institute/ Rice R&D Company, Government of Punjab.
